Cold process soap is the soap which is made from scratch.
Soap is a product in which oils going through a process called saponification with lye. Cold process soap, as its name implies, is made when there is no heating up involved. In this way, essential oils (usually added as scent for the soap) can be reserved more properly.
Making cold process soap is a long process and special care is required when handling lye-Sodium Hydroxide. The soaps takes at least 30 days to cure before it can be used.
